LinkedIn Is Testing A New Video Feed

t's a TikTok world, and we're just living in it. At least if you’re looking at the evolution of social media platforms during the past few years. Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube have all reshaped their interfaces to emulate TikTok's success, and now, it’s finally LinkedIn’s turn to jump aboard.

LinkedIn is currently in the beta testing phase of a new feature very similar to TikTok’s successful vertical video feed. It is thought to be accessible via a dedicated “video” tab within the app, with features that allows users to scroll through vertical clips, just like with Instagram Reels or TikToks.

Acknowledged by LinkedIn following users sharing screenshots and videos on social media, the introduction of this feature aims to enrich the platform's video content and foster a more engaging user experience.

“Videos are rapidly becoming one of our members’ favorite formats to learn from other professionals and experts, so we are testing new ways to help members more easily discover timely, relevant videos to watch on LinkedIn.”

— Statement from LinkedIn

The new video feed reflects an effort to adapt to evolving user preferences, however, how the professional users of LinkedIn will receive this initiative remains uncertain, given the focus on workplace-related content on the platform.

We think it was just a matter of time, and are looking forward to the new opportunities this can give brands and creators to reach and engage both existing and new audiences.
